Grade School Teacher 

Polaris School and Centre is seeking a dedicated and passionate Grade School Class Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
Founded in 2018, Polaris is a small, independent Waldorf-inspired school located in the heart of Ottawa. We are a growing and diverse community, committed to providing a holistic education that nurtures the head, heart, and hands of every child. Our approach emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning to cultivate a lifelong love of learning, self-confidence, resilience, creativity, and respect for others and the natural world.

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced educator who enjoys working with children and thrives in a collaborative teaching environment. The ideal candidate is a Waldorf-trained and/or Ontario-certified teacher with teaching experience and comfort in leading a split-grade class. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver main lesson blocks and additional lessons following Waldorf pedagogy and curriculum.
  • Engage students through hands-on, experiential learning, integrating movement and the arts into academic subjects.
  • Assess student progress and communicate results with students, parents, and faculty.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings, mentoring, and professional development workshops as required.

Qualifications
  • Ideally the completion of a Waldorf Teacher Training Certification OR Ontario Teacher Certification with at least one year of teaching experience (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages, especially French, are an asset.

Salary & Benefits
  • Full-time salary: $46,000 – $60,000 (commensurate with training and experience).
  • Benefits: No additional benefits are currently offered.
