Admissions Process
Step 1: Complete the Admissions Inquiry Form below to arrange a time to visit the school and receive the Admissions Package, including the admissions application.

If you have already attended a tour and/or Open House, please add that to the comments section below and the Admissions Package will be sent to you.

Registration is ongoing throughout the year, as long as there are spaces available.

It is important to have families visit the school, classrooms and see our outdoor space. One can attend one of the upcoming Open Houses and/or make arrangements for a personal tour.

Once the Admissions Application is completed and returned along with all relevant or supporting documents requested (please refer to the admissions checklist on the application) then we move on to step 2.

Note, the application fee of $180 for new students ($80 for siblings) is due with the admissions form. 

Age Requirements:
Kindergarten: Child must turn 4 years of age by December 31st.
Grade 1 - children born in: 2017-07-01 to 2018-06-30
Grade 2 - children born in: 2016-07-01 to 2017-06-30
Grade 3 - children born in: 2015-07-01 to 2016-06-30
Grade 4 - children born in: 2014-07-01 to 2015-06-30
Grade 5 - children born in: 2013-07-01 to 2014-06-30
Grade 6 - children born in: 2012-07-01 to 2013-06-30
 
Step 2: Interview with Class Teacher(s)
 
Once your Admissions Application is received it will be forwarded on to the class teacher. They will contact you to arrange for a time to meet with you and your child. This may be done on the same day or separate days. This meeting provides you with an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about our program(s) and educational approach to ensure that this is the right fit for your family. It also provides the school with an opportunity to learn more about your child to see if we are able to meet your child’s needs and your expectations. There may also be a follow up meeting after they have met with your child.
 
Admissions Applications then go to the Circle of Teachers, where a final decision regarding acceptance and grade placement is made.

There is an 8 week trial period for all new students to ensure that Polaris is the right place for your child and family. Note that depending upon the time of the year, new students may need to wait to begin, this will be based on upcoming holidays, current block etc. and discussed during the meeting with the teacher.
 
 Step 3: Financial Contribution and Enrolment Contract
 
Once you have received notification that your child has been accepted at Polaris, an appointment will then be arranged to complete the admissions process. At this meeting, the enrolment contract will be reviewed, along with the family’s financial obligations, volunteer opportunities and an update as to where the school finds itself. It provides families with another opportunity to go over any questions they may have. 

Note, that a 10% deposit per family is due at this time. The first monthly payment is due on September 1st, 2024. For those starting mid-year, fees will be prorated.
