The Admissions process is set up to provide families with time to receive information and ask questions to assist them in the decision making process. The steps are detailed below. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to us via email or phone.
Step 1: Attend an Open House or Personal/Virtual Tour of Polaris. Before a family registers, it is important that they are familiar with the space, and have had the opportunity to learn more about our approach to ensure that it is the right fit. If you have not visited the school, you can see the upcoming Open House dates online or fill in our Online Tour Form to arrange for a personal tour. Step 2: Complete the Admissions Application and submit payment. Once you have visited the school you can then complete the Admissions Application and include payment for the one-time, non-refundable Admissions Fee ($180 for the first child and $80 for siblings). Payment instructions are detailed in the Admissions Application. Please click on the button below to complete the online application form or send an email to [email protected] for a hard copy. Step 3: Attend a Meeting with your child's teacher. Once the application is received, please allow 3 to 7 school days before the teacher reaches out to arrange a time to meet. During this meeting the teacher will go over the application to get a better sense of whether the school can meet your child's needs and explore your expectations. It provides you with an opportunity to learn more about the class, our approach and ask questions to ensure you have a clear picture when making your final decision.
Then, either on the same day or on a separate day the teacher will meet your child. This provides the child with an opportunity to see the space and begin building a connection with their teacher. Step 4: Acceptance. After meeting with the class teacher, your child's application goes to the Circle of Teachers for official acceptance. You will be notified by phone or email, and if successful, the enrolment package will be sent to you and arrangements will be made for a Family Meeting with the school administrator. Step 5: Attend a Family Meeting. At this meeting we will review the the enrolment contract, financial obligations, volunteer opportunities at the school and the school's current priorities. This also provides families with an opportunity to ask any further questions or request clarification. Once the signed contract is returned, along with a 10% deposit your child's spot is confirmed. Choosing the right school for your child and your family is a big decision and there are also many factors involved in the whole process. At times we may not know how things will unfold. Knowing this, Polaris offers all new families an 8 week trial period so they have the opportunity to see if this is truly the right fit for them. Still have Questions? [email protected] |
