Summer Camp Schedule
Ages 7 to 12
Nature Connect Camp The joyful return of the red-winged blackbirds and Canada geese has us thinking ahead to sunshine-filled summer camps at Polaris! This summer, join outdoor educator and Polaris Nature Connect facilitator Amy for hands-on nature inspired learning and play out on the land. The school is surrounded by many beloved green spaces and conservation areas where we will head to in search of magic and inspiration, rain or shine. We will explore the pond, climb and play in our treehouse, throw stones in the river, play games in the fields and forests, craft nature journals, and cook bannock over the fire. Each week will have a unique inspiration and focus but we will go where the wind takes us. We hope to see you there! July 7-11 Fire making & cooking (Full - contact the office to be added to the waitlist). Come hungry! We will spend the mornings of this week learning how to make fires and cooking tasty treats together. We will roast apples and make bannock, and we will most certainly be singing and storytelling around the fire. July 14-18 Crafting, cordage, journaling, whittling (7 spots available) We’re bringing out the picnic blankets this week! We will spend a portion of each day foraging for natural materials and then settling in for afternoons of crafting together. We will create cordage, flower crowns, spoons, nature journals, fairy baskets, and more. July 21-25 Edible plants & trees (4 spots available) This week we will draw big inspiration from the plant and tree allies all around us. We will learn how to identify common plants and trees and how to forage safely and respectfully. We will make special concoctions like wildflower jelly, sun teas, pine syrup, and we will eat wild raspberries by the handful. Cost/week: $350 for first child and $315 for siblings attending the same camp. For more information contact: [email protected] There is a minimum of 6 to 8 children needed to proceed with any individual camp week below. If we do not have enough registrations we may cancel any given week and provide families with a minimum of two weeks notice and a full refund and/or credit as preferred.
