Administrative Assistant (Part-time)
Polaris School and Centre is seeking an administrative assistant for the 2023-2024 school year. Having opened our doors in September 2018, Polaris School and Centre is a small, independent Waldorf-inspired school in the heart of Ottawa. We are currently looking for an individual to join our team and our growing and diverse school community. Working closely with and under the supervision of the School Administrator and Teachers, the Administrative Assistant will assist with various administrative duties, manage student records, assist in marketing & coordinating fundraising activities and maintain the school facilities. Polaris School and Centre is seeking a marketing coordinator for the 2023-2024 school year. Working closely with the School Administrator, Teachers and Marketing Committee, the Marketing Coordinator will oversee and assist in implementing the school’s marketing plan as defined at the beginning of each year. Polaris is currently looking for a part-time Outdoor Education Assistant to co-teach alongside Nature Connect’s Lead Outdoor Facilitator for the 2023/2024 school year. The Assistant helps facilitate Nature Connect weekly Friday sessions with the aim of increasing children’s confidence, social and emotional development, strengthening their connection to nature and the outdoors and physical knowledge and skills. Sessions are planned by the Lead Facilitator and supported by the Assistant. The Assistant is welcome to bring forth ideas and assist with lesson planning and teaching. There will be time before and after sessions for planning and reflection. Successful candidates must have experience working with children in an outdoor setting, creating an engaging and supportive environment. They must be flexible and be able to respond to the changing needed of the children. They must be able to administer basic first aid (certification required). As an outdoor/all-weather program, applicants must have a love of the great outdoors and be prepared for all types of weather. Assets:
