Polaris School and Centre is seeking someone to take on the extended care program after school for children in grades 1 to 6. Working independently, the Extended Care Facilitator works to create a joyful, safe, warm, and welcoming atmosphere for the children. The incumbent will create a familiar daily rhythm that includes snack time and either outdoor play or indoor activities.
This is a contract position from September to June. The program runs Monday to Friday from 3:15pm to 5:15pm. Requirements: Ideally the incumbent would:
Have at least a minimum of one year experience in the child care field and/or completion of a teaching certificate.
Previous knowledge of Waldorf pedagogy and/or Waldorf teaching experience is an asset.
Be willing to receive instruction and work collaboratively with teaching staff and school administration as needed.
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in the completion of all duties and towards students, parents and colleagues.
Provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector check.
Hold current First Aid & CPR certification.
Salary: $24/hour No additional benefits are offered
