Receive the child with deep respect, raise him with love, and let him go in freedom. -Rudolf Steiner
Enrolment for the 2019-2020 school year now open. Polaris started with a pilot year in the Fall of 2018. We are very happy to now embark on a second pilot year, continuing our program with some changes in our programming and financial model. Pending sufficient enrolment, we will be offering programming for children from kindergarten to grade 11. We will have a grade 1/2 class and a grade 3/4 class. The divisions of the older grades is still being determined.
We have clearly found that only three days of main lessons made it challenging to establish the rhythms and cover the curriculum we aspired to. Therefore we are planning on offering four days of main lessons this year coming year. The fifth day will be a community day. Note that this depends on sufficient enrolment.
Polaris School and Centre is happy to be offering the following:
5-day Kindergarten Program for children aged 4 to 6 (our flexible Kindergarten program allows families to choose between 2 to 5 days/week to meet their family’s needs)
4-day Main Lesson Program for children in Grades 1 to 11
1-day Community/Nature Day Program for children in Grades 1 to 11 (can be combined with the 4-day Main Lesson Program for a full week program)
Parent and Child Program (more information to follow shortly)
Parent Education Sessions (more information to follow shortly)
Note, that all new students must complete an Admissions Application. Once the application is received, arrangements will be made for parents to meet with one of our teachers, and then a subsequent meeting with the child will be held. Note, there is a one-time non-refundable admissions fee of $180, $80 for any additional children, due with the Admissions Application.
Together we are working towards creating what Polaris will become. Our vision for the school requires that we all work together as a community to support the School and ensure its viability. Working together we strengthen our bonds as a community and create opportunities for individual growth. Polaris is a journey not only for the children, but their families as well.
