Spring Sessions
Wednesdays, 8:45 to 11:45 am

Zoology
Block 1: March 23rd to April 28th (6 weeks, Wed. & Thur.)
Block 2:
May 4th to June 16th (7 weeks, Wed. & Thur.)
This course offers an introduction to the animal kingdom through a natural history lens.  We will focus on local animal species and discover how they are uniquely specialized for survival in their environment.  Feeling into the soul qualities of each animal, children will explore and compare their physical and behavioural characteristics using their naturalist skills of sensory awareness and observation.  Much of our learning will take place outdoors and will be guided by inquiry and hands-on experience.  Bring your curiosity and come ready to explore!

Botany  - postponed please contact us for details
Plants form the foundation of life on our planet.  In this course, we will discover the diversity of forms that make up the plant kingdom and get to know some of the local plants growing around us.  Our study will include: how plants meet their survival needs,  the journey from seed to fruit, the roles played by different parts of the plant, and the relationships that connect them to their communities.  As we explore outdoors, children will deepen their observation skills as they learn to identify distinguishing features of common herbaceous plants and trees, including some common edible and medicinal plants.   Join us as the plant world awakens this spring!

There will be a mid-morning break for snack and recess.

Cost: Block 1

$270 – 6 weeks (Wednesdays: $45/session)
